Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.
Unfortunately IE was the only browser which could open this file type and continues to be so with IE mode.
There isn't a workaround for this.
Kind Regards,
Elise
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Prior to windows 11 , I was exporting a document in MHTML format and was using Internet explorer to view the MHTML File. IE used to render the MHTML file perfectly and show the report page with images as expected. But while migrating to Win 11 , where IE is obsolete , i want to open this MHTML file in normal browsers like MSEDGE and Chrome without the use of IE mode . So is there any way available using which latest browsers can be used to render this MHTML file without IE Mode.

Edge is capable of opening MHTML files without having to invoke IE mode specifically. Here's a page from one I found earlier:
It may depend on the file's content and properties whether this works seamlessly or not. IE Mode will be around for a long time because of all the sites and applications that still rely on it.
You also have an MHTML reader available in the built-in Mail app; change the .mht extension of the file name to .eml to see this in action, assuming that Mail is the default handler for .eml files.
Could you share a link to one of your MHTML files so we could have a look at it?
Hi,
Thank you for the suggestion. In my scenario, there is a patient report that I am exporting from a medical system in MHTML format , so that other users who does have this medical software installed can view this exported report . Prior to Windows 11 we were using the Internet Explorer which was perfectly rendering the MHTML format file . But since IE has retired and we are trying not rely on IE mode for a long term , so we are trying to use the other available latest browser for rendering of this format(MHTML). So is there any suggestions according to the above scenario explained ?

What happens if you try to open one of these files in Edge? If you see an error message, please quote it in full, or post a screenshot of it. In some cases, it may be necessary to invoke IE Mode: Edge Internet Explorer (IE) Mode | Microsoft
