    Hi!

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

I understand from your message that don't know how to disable inprivate browsing in MS edge browser of Windows 11 .

    Here are the solutions:

    1. Right click the Start menu.
    2. Select Run, enter gpedit.msc.
    3. This will open the local group policy editor window, Click the Computer Configuration/User Configuration/ Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Microsoft Edge menu **** item in turn.
    4. Select Microsoft Edge/Setting/Allow Inprivate browsing

5.Right click  the Allow Inprivate browsing section, select Edit/Disabled/OK.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards

    @Rebecca:

    Select Run, enter gpedit.msc.

That isn't available for users of Windows Home editions.

    Click the Computer Configuration/User Configuration/

Which? The first sets policies for all users, the second only for the current user.

The instructions you give are for the legacy version of Edge which is no longer available. To edit Group Policy for the current version of Edge, the user would first have to download and install the admin templates.

This option can also be applied by editing the registry.

How to disable inprivate browsing in MS edge browser of Windows 11?

This can be done, but it involves adding a registry entry: How to open Registry Editor in Windows 11

In Registry Editor, the string value to add is under

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

The value Name is InPrivateModeAvailability with value data 0 for Available and 1 for Not available. (Value data 2 forces the use of InPrivate mode all the time)

To enter the value for all Windows users, add it under

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge

If you're not familiar with the registry, you may want to have a look at a guide. This one may be old, but it's still good: How to Modify the Windows Registry - dummies

No, it doesn't, as I explained in my posts on this page. You'll see how to disable InPrivate in my second post.
