When using Edge browser to log into Facebook, even though it prompts me to save my login information continually asked me to log in each time. However, Chrome browser does not. Once I tell Chrome to remember my login, it does not prompt me again for that info unless I clear cache and cookies.

Why does Edge browser not honor this?

    Hi tdehan,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand the frustration when the thing won’t work the way we want. There could be many causes of the Edge not remembering the saved passwords. It is advised to take following measures to troubleshoot and fix the issue you are experiencing.

    1. Change user profile

Log out of your main account and temporarily add another account in Edge. Save your login credentials on any website and see how the browser handles them on the new account.

    1. Change Sync Permissions

Open Edge > In the top-right corner, click on the three horizontal dots > Select Settings from the top-right menu > In the Profiles settings, navigate to Sync > Click on Turn on sync if it's already off >Turn on the toggle for Passwordsand then click Confirm.

3**.** Disable Password Management Extensions if there are any

Open Edge > In the top-right corner, click on the three horizontal dots > Then click on Extensions > Click on Manage extensions > Set the toggle to the left for all password management extensions.

    1. Clear your browser history and cookies.

Launch Edge, In the top-right corner, click on the three horizontal dots > click on the menu and select History > Click on Clear browsing data and select your history, cookies and cache > Hit the Clear now button and restart your Edge.

    1. Repair or reset Edge.

Select Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Select Microsoft Edge and click Advanced options > On the page that opens, select Repairif it's available. If it isn't available or doesn't fix the problem, select Reset.

I hope this helps, and feel free to reach back if you need further assistance.

    Best regards

    1. There is no option to log out of my main account in Edge. It does not give me that option...
    2. SYNC is already enabled, and Passwords is turned on.
    3. There is no option to the left for "all password extensions". Also, there are no extensions installed.
    4. There is no Advanced Options under Microsoft Edge in Apps & Features. There is no Repair option available. There is no Reset option available also...

    Now what?

    Hi tdehan,

Is this happening on a home personal computer or work/school domain-connected computer?

I would like you to check if Clearing cookies on exit is enabled in Microsoft Edge. You can follow the steps below.

    1. Click on the three dots menu button.
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Click on Privacy, search, and services. If you don't see that, click on the three lines button and then Privacy, search, and services.
    4. Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear every time you close the browser.
    5. If Cookies and other site data is enabled, you can disable it or click on Add for Don't clear and enter facebook.com so Facebook cookies won't be deleted.

    Eric

    This is a personal computer.

I followed your steps above and there is no difference. The same issue happens...

Why does this work in Chrome and not Edge??
