It's not quite clear why this is a problem. If your display drivers produce unwanted results when Edge's hardware acceleration is turned on, then turning it off will often correct the fault, as you've discovered. This might be a problem if the computer's CPU is seriously underpowered, so that the added burden of graphics rendering causes an unacceptable shortage of resources for other tasks. Is this your situation? What problems do you face if hardware acceleration is turned off?
Edge produces a very detailed report of how the GPU is performing, highlighting any problems it encounters. While most of the report will not mean much to ordinary users, any major problems will be fairly obvious. To see it, open a new tab, type edge://gpu into the address bar and press Enter.
If you have an advanced graphics card, it will have dozens of settings to enable you to tailor its performance to your needs. You're more likely to get help with configuring it on the manufacturer's forums, like Community Support | NVIDIA GeForce Forums or Support Forums - AMD Community
