Your screenshot shows that, at some point, you selected the option to Prompt for the custom primary password before filling website password. The Learn more link next to it explains what this means. As soon as this option is selected, you would have been asked to confirm your Windows authentication, e.g. by entering your Windows password or PIN:

Having done so, this dialogue appears:

This is the password you're now being asked for. As the article referred to says,

"There is no way to recover your custom password if you lose one; hence it is***strongly recommended that you turn on Sync,***at least for your data that you don’t want to risk losing access to.

"In case you forget your custom password, you'll need to delete your profile, clear all app data on your computer and again sign in and turn on sync for your browser."

    I am literally stuck.

A number of users have reported being unexpectedly asked to provide a primary password, which might indicate that there's a bug in this function. While we wait to find out whether this is the case and that a fix will be deployed, you can try exporting your passwords. The option is on the (More options) menu next to the n saved passwords heading on the page edge://settings/passwords. You will have to enter the credentials for your Windows user account, e.g. the password or PIN you use to sign in to Windows when you start your computer.

The file that is exported contains all your saved passwords in plain text, so it should be kept in a very safe place, like your OneDrive Personal vault. You can open and read the file in Notepad, or in Excel if you'd like to see the data in neatly arranged columns.

My problem is that this option, to require a custom primary password to use autofill, was not selected by me and I never set one up. It seems to have occurred with the last Windows update that this problem began to occur. Having never set up this password I can't possibly know what it is. Now, because of an update I have to upset all of my profile settings and attempt to rebuild my PC back to what they were prior to this debacle. I have access to everything else in my computer except passwords in Edge.

Luckily I can still use Chrome. I hope that Microsoft plans to address this.

I believe I should have been informed before a "Primary Password" was created by Microsoft. I accidentally deleted it thinking it would suffice. Now, I am in a quagmire of the inability to access ANY account, and since both laptop and me are older, I do not trust the process provided to enter a new primary password. I check all my accounts daily, and since this incident, I am unable to access a single one. I do believe in securing accounts but attempting to change this "Primary Password" is akin to the Warden in Maximum Security Prison.
