Hi Dave,
Tried both options; neither worked. The installer from the link you provided resulted in the same error dialog:
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Edge was working until I restarted my computer. Now it will not open and when I attempted to repair (Modify button under Apps & Features), I get an Error dialog window that says: Installer error: 0x0000006. Uninstall is not an option for Edge in Apps & Features or I would have tried that also. No other changes were made to my system prior to the shutdown/restart.

Thank you for that information, those errors need to be fixed.
Click the power button on your Start Menu
Press the Shift Key and click Restart
Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment
Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Command Prompt
Type this command and press Enter:
chkdsk C: /f /r
Wait for that command to complete, then restart your PC
Also, just ran chkdsk from cmd since I had it open and got this:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.
1
Open Command Prompt by right clicking its icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator'
Run this command and press Enter:
start msedge --disable-extensions
Does Edge open correctly?
If it does, there is some extension installed in Edge that is corrupt, that will need to be removed.
2
If that was not the problem, download the Edge offline installer from this link an use that to re-install Edge on top of itself.
