Installing or updating Microsoft Edge on Android devices

When I update Microsoft Edge for MacOS in the About Microsoft Edge section, I get an error message that says "An error occurred. (Error code: 9) (Extra code: 0)". Sometimes it displays another error message that says "An error occurred. (Error code: -5000) (Extra code: 0)" . I uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Edge for Mac including removing the Microsoft Edge updater. The issue is fixed sometimes and a message in the Microsoft Edge for Mac says "Microsoft Edge is up to date". After the MacBook Pro wakes up from sleep, the error messages appear again. I have a MacBook Pro running an Apple M1 Pro chip and the operating system is macOS Sonoma. The current version of Microsoft Edge for ARM-based Mac computers is 117.0.2045.55. This could be caused by a bug in the Microsoft Edge Update service for Macintosh for ARM-based Mac computers. It does not impact Microsoft Edge for Intel-based Mac computers because when I checked for updates on my Intel-based iMac computer, it displays the "Microsoft Edge is up to date" message instead of these 2 error messages.

I just started getting this after Edge appeared to update to 118.0.2088.46 and since then that error comes up for me the same as everyone else. I also did everything that everyone else has tried and was suggested. I'm wondering if this is a bug in the most recent update.
Mac Studio
Apple M2 Max
MacOS Sonoma 14.0
Same problem here MacBook M1 Pro. Come on Microsoft, get it together!
I'm also getting this error on my M2 Pro Mac. I tried attaching a screenshot but it won't upload (maybe from this version since I've been having problems with copy/paste and right clicking which lead me down this path). I also tried to remove and reinstall the ARM64 version of Edge.
Version 118.0.2088.46 (Official build) (arm64)
I am having the same issue on my mac M1 and tried everything Derrick19 suggested as well as what beetlemanptm suggested and the issue is still not resolved. I am still getting "An error occurred. (Error code: -5000) (Extra code: 0)"
Hi
Welcome to Microsoft community.
It seems like you're experiencing a specific issue with Microsoft Edge on ARM-based Macs. Microsoft was still working to fully optimize software for Apple's new M1 chips, and some issues might persist.
However, I can provide some general troubleshooting steps that may help:
