Dear LeandraFuentes
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
Recently, Microsoft made a major update to MSN, redesigning it as MSN Start, which may have caused you to experience some uncomfortable changes when using Microsoft Edge. Below is some information about the changes to MSN and Microsoft Edge, as well as suggestions on how to try to restore your previous layout or usage experience.
Changes to MSN
- Interface redesign:
MSN now features a new layout and design style designed to provide a more modern user experience. This includes larger graphical blocks, a different way of presenting content, and personalized recommendations for news and articles.
- Content Aggregation:
MSN Start now focuses more on aggregating content from different sources, which may make the presentation of information appear more cluttered, especially compared to the layout you were used to before.
- Personalized Settings:
The new version of MSN may personalize content recommendations based on your browsing habits and interests, which may affect the type of content you see and the order in which it is presented.
How to Restore Your Previous Layout or Experience
Although Microsoft has updated MSN, you may not be able to fully restore the previous layout, but you can try the following methods to improve your experience:
- Adjust the MSN Start settings:
On the MSN Start page, you can try adjusting the settings for what is displayed. There are usually settings options in the top right corner of the page that allow you to choose what type of content to display.
- Use Edge's homepage settings:
In Edge, you can set the home page to any other website you like, not just MSN. you can change the home page by following these steps:
a. Open Microsoft Edge.
a. Open Microsoft Edge. b. Click the three dots (menu) in the upper-right corner.
c. Select Settings.
d. Choose Appearance in the left menu, then find the Home button, choose Open Specific Page, and enter the address of the home page you want. 3. Example: https://www.msn.com/
- Use Bookmarks or Quick Access:
If you have specific MSN pages or other websites you want to access quickly, you can add them to your bookmarks or quick access to find what you need faster.
- Feedback to Microsoft:
If you're not happy with the new design, you can express your opinions and suggestions by submitting feedback to Microsoft through the Feedback feature in the three dots in the upper right corner of Edge. You can find this in the menu Help and Feedback > Send Feedback.
To summarize
MSN's updates may make you uncomfortable, but you can improve your experience by adjusting your settings and using Edge's features. If you wish to revert to the previous layout, it may take time to get used to the new design or consider using other alternatives. We hope these suggestions help you get the most out of MSN and Microsoft Edge.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
