I am trying to create a system recovery disk for Windows Vista SP2.  I have tried using DVD-RW and DVD+RW disks.  Each time the disk is ejected with a message to install a blank disk.  The disks ARE blank.   Is there a different format I should use.

.... this is  getting just ridiculous the link you've provided takes you to  2 other  web sites and wants you to  DL something  that  frankly can't be  verified. Its a good question that was originally asked  and everyone  is  avoiding a straight answer... can you make a remote bootable disk that can  recover a Vista machine.. something with a  Microsoft stamp on it  so I know I'm not going to  get hacked to bits.

Dam ridiculous..... also what is ridiculous is the fact that you can't actually download the dam Repair tool straight from microsoft...

To answer the question the dvd+r are for data back up dvd-r are for video back up and the rw stands for rewrite so you would want to use the +r.
