I have windows Seven ultimate 64 bits

When windows is downloading its updates it kills my bandwidth.

Is there a way to limit the maximum bandwidth that windows can take for its updates ?

Hi

It can Not be done by the OS. There is a 3rd party software that can help in controlling Bandwidth use, but I do not know if it can control Updates traffic (http://www.netlimiter.com/betas.ph p ).

Otherwise "play" with the time of the Update.

    Flashback

Remember Windows 3.1 - 10MB installation files. The user could write letters, print, scan, read mail, edit photos, draw. On the computer with performance of calculator.

Today - Windows 10 - installation of 3000mb data. Computer from NASA control center. I want to write a letter. Not right now, I have to wait for the system to do its job, the user is not essential,  just delays his (system) work. Oh yes, I can write. No no, wait, now we have to restart the pc - we downloaded another 500MB of necessary data for better user tracking, but they have canceled some unnecessary functions such as, hmm ....to send the table by email directly from Excel, who would need it?

Windows sucks.  Why is the customer always expected to work twice as hard to make their products work.  Not like we paid for it or something.  First we have to figure out why their crap isn't working and then we have to find a way to contain the beast.  Then, in a couple of years they MIGHT push an update.  By the time the crap works right "Oh, we're sorry, that product has reached end of life and you have to update to our new product that will triple your workload."  Sick of the whole deal.

No, if it's 5% of your 1GBit connection to your router 1 computer will saturate a 50MBit internet connection - but who knows, I bet ~99.9% of Microsoft don't.

If you find a setting that fits your internet connection speed it will of course not scale in such a simple way. Windows isn't downloading updates the whole day, so updates will of course not downloaded from all computers at the same time, especially the big updates to a new version will happen over many days and if WUDO works correctly, updates should be  delivered within your local network not using your internet connection at all. I have never seen this in real life but that's the idea.

I also think WUDO isn't as aggressive as in the beginning anymore(I had no problems lately and I only disabled uploads), so it may be that your problems are because of uploads which you can disable completely.

So if there's a company, like twenty computers, then the 5% limit will again make me 100% clog the internet?
