    Hi bumble beee,

    Thank you for visiting Microsoft Windows Vista answers forum.

    Plese try the following steps,

    Method I :

    1. Click on Start
    2. Click on Search
    3. Then type Dxdiag and hit enter
    4. Unedr System tab you will be able to see System Model number.

    Where you will find all the information of your Computer.

    Method II:

    Go to start / accessories /system tools / system information. (or)

    1. Click on Start
    2. Click on Search
    3. Type Msinfo32 and hit enter.
    4. Click on System Summary on lefthand side ****
    5. On right hand side you will be able to see details of your system where you will see System Model

    I mistakenly deleted a bunch of programs and info from my PC. I can't seem to restore things.  I had my monthly budget on a spreadsheet on my thumb drive (F:) but can't recover that either. It's very important that I retrieve it as it has current and upcoming payment information I use constantly. How can I get it back?
