Original title: sound problems

i am having problems with music and videos. the sounds kind of skip and get distorted a few seconds. this happens on you tube with videos, windows media player and vemotion. i have tried several songs and videos to check and make sure it is not just 1 or 2 bad. i have checked all updates. all my drives say they are working.i uninstalled and reinstalled the sound driver.. i cleared cookies and temporary files.. did a disk clean up and defragmintation. i have used avant firefox and google chrome browers so i know it is not a browser problem. my internet connection is cable and it is working properally. i have tried all microsoft updates, went through all their solutions, tried all sound and audio things and everything is in working order. i am not sure what else i can do . please anyone that can help me fix my problem would be greatly appreciated

    Hi brianj32,

    1. Did you make any changes prior to the issue?

Try disabling speaker audio enhancements and check the result. To do this, try these steps.

    a. Open Audio Devices and Sound Themes by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Sound.

    b. On the Playback tab, click Speakers, and then click Properties.

    c. Click the Enhancements tab, and then select the Disable all enhancements check box.
