All of a sudden I can't open regedit becasue my ACLUI.dll file is missing. Any ideas about 1) what caused this and 2) how I can fix this situation?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

1 ) I had the same issue and I don't know how it happened, maybe the software that manages all updates on the destktop computer in my company did something wrong, but I'm unable to prove it.

    1. As to how I fixed this. I checked into 'C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles ' and I found the 'aclui.dll ' file there. I just copied it to 'C:\WINDOWS\System32' and that fixed the issue for now. I just hope what I did won't have any impact on future updates.... I cross my fingers.

    Regards

I just went on the file search system inside the Windows folder. I typed the name of the dll "aclui.dll" and it found the file in the folder. I just copied and pasted it into the System32 folder. I hope I have helped.
