How can I delete the "Frequent" list within Windows Explorer?

This "Frequent" list exists when you pin "My Computer" to the taskbar and then right click on the folder.

The reason I want to delete the "Frequent" list is because it intrusively is located below the desired "pinned" list and the Frequent list is also a privacy issue where a guest to my computer can see all the files I have ever visited.

    Hi

The only way to do this is to right click the Start button and select Properties. Remove both check marks from the options in the Privacy section.

Note: This is a global setting and will apply to all program pinned to the Taskbar.

    Hope this helps.

Thank You for using Windows 7

If you are looking just to remove the frequent list right click the start menu, click properties, then click on customize, from there click on the my computer icon and you will see two things near the bottom "Number of recent programs to display" and below that "Number of recent items to display in jump list"; just set the second one to 0 and there will be no more pesky frequent list on your task bar items.

I'd like to find a way to make the metro version of IE stop tracking this.  I don't care to advertise whatever sites I visit to anyone I let borrow my device.
