I keep getting this message when i try to install Call of Duty 2, Disk 1,  "Library not Registered". I have Call of Duty 1 and its expansion United Offensive installed with all updates for them and they run perfectly, as well as Call of Duty 4  Modern Warfare, but COD2 wont even begin to load from the first disk, at all...just the library message appears, and then after a min or 2, windows says this is not responding and closes the program. The computer i"m running is brand new with windows7 home premium 64 bit already installed on it, my 52nd birthday present, and is set up for gaming. here are the computer stats/components :

AMD Phenom II 945 Quad-Core proccessor..........8 GB DDR3 system memory..........SuperMulti DVD burner w/lightscribe technology..........1 Terabyte hard drive..........NVIDIA GeForce GT220 graphics card w/1 GB dedicated graphics memory..........Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit...............its a HP Pavillion Elite  HPE-130f PC

I haven't added anything to the computer...dont want to mess it up....its all the stuff it came with when it was purchased. I contacted Activision, but the seem to b affaid of windows 7  more then i am ( old comp was winxp w/sp3). Do you know why this and what this message means and how i might be able to fix the problem. I checked with compatibility and seems to be compatible. Ty for your time to read this, and any response would be appreciated.

    Hi isdahl,

    1. Make sure the account admin rights to install the game.

Don't run the autorun.exe file when you put the DVD/CD’ s in, instead go to my computer then CD/DVD drive and manually find the setup.exe file and run that to install. When you run the setup file also be sure to right click and run it as an admin.

Let us know if you are able to install the game.

Regards, Manasa P – Microsoft Support.

Worked perfect!! Thank you for you advice I would recommend this solution to everyone running windows 7 installs without a problem and if you come across one just run compatibility after the install and again thank you Manasa

I did the procedure as you said and the program works fine with the exception that it will not down load any files from any servers and I get an error message "disconnected from the server".  My fire wall is setup to allow full transfer.  Do you have any ideas?

This would be a great help.
