Problem with correct color display on desktop (some colors are oversaturated)

Hello,

Recently I bought new computer with two screens.

Graphics card - Gigabyte 480 GTX

Screens - HP LP2475w (IPS screens)

System Windos 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Calibrator: Eye One Display 2

I was reading that win7 supports ICC profiles for desktop. I started with color calibration which created and applied ICC profiles to system. In the end I have correct colors in Photoshop, Firefox and system picture viewer, but icons and wallpapers in desktop are still oversaturated mostly in reds, pinks and greens. Also other applications which don't support color management has problems with correct colors (3ds max, Faststone). In case of mentioned programs I suppose I can't expect it will support correct colors but I would be very happy to see proper colors on the desktop.

Thank you in advance for help.....Rafal

    Hi,

    Method 1.

You can try using the Display Quality troubleshooter to automatically find and fix some common display problems.

    a. Open the Display Quality troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.

    b. In the left pane, click View all, and then click Display Quality.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Method 2.

Also you may consider reducing the hardware acceleration and then check.

You can try changing the hardware acceleration and verify (You can try a different level too.)

    a. Right click on empty space on desktop.

    b. Go to Screen Resolution.

    c. Then click on Advanced settings and click on the tab "Troubleshoot".

    d. Set the hardware acceleration to medium. (You will get the option only if your Video card support its).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks and Regards:
