Hi, I wanted to know your strategy for updating the sccm client Intune app that you use to install on Autopilot provisionned machines which are outside of your corporate network.

I know how to create the Intune app to install it, but do you update the client.msi everytime you upgrade to a newer version of the client (major build upgrade or hotfix) or do you keep the current MSI and leverage automatic client upgrades to upgrade to latest version after the client is installed via Intune?

Thank you in advance and don't hesitate if you have any questions.

You should never use client.msi directly. From Intune, it is only supported to use ccmsetup.msi to deploy the ConfigMgr client agent.

In general, yes, I would recommend updating the Intune app with the latest ccmsetup.msi when you upgrade ConfigMgr so that new devices are immediately on the latest version.

Yes you're right, we're using ccmsetup.msi, it was an error on my part saying we use client.msi.

Thank you for confirming what I thought we should do.

As always your input is much appreciated.
