When you right-click on an application that's pinned to the taskbar, it comes up with a list of recent files. Is there a way to increase the number it shows?

Hi

Right click the Start Button and click Properties.

Select the Customize Button.

At the bottom of that configuration dialog you will see the settings for increasing the number of recent items in the Jump Lists.

Hope this helps.

    Hi

This question is posted in the Windows 7 forums.

In Windows 8x, Right Click the Taskbar and select Properties.

    Click the Jump Lists tab.

You will see the options to adjust the number of Recent Items at the top of that dialog.

    Regards

That sounds like a slightly different problem which I also encountered recently. Just a nice little bug in the windows system.

Anyway, I found the solution here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-NZ/w7itproui/thread/77d1df80-0311-4530-ab17-9489975b9fce

(The following instructions are copied from that page)

    2 Steps (cautious one)

    #1: Go to below location:

    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\

#2: Rename below file to any other name!

    1b4dd67f29cb1962.automaticDestinations-ms

    Thats all !

Now "Pin To Windows Explorer" works !!!

    1 STEP:

Run the below command in CMD , or delete the below file manually!

     del %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\1b4dd67f29cb1962.automaticDestinations-ms

    Thats all !

Now "Pin To Windows Explorer" works !!!
