When you right-click on an application that's pinned to the taskbar, it comes up with a list of recent files. Is there a way to increase the number it shows?

Right click the Start Button and click Properties.
Select the Customize Button.
At the bottom of that configuration dialog you will see the settings for increasing the number of recent items in the Jump Lists.

If you have Start8, then you do have a Recent menu that is very nice but it is limited to 14 items, apparently. It would be nice to be able to increase the number of items listed here. I presume it can be done in the Registry.
I see that in Windows 10, there is a Quick Access Folder available after you click on the Windows Explorer icon or start it some other way (Windows key + E for example) on the Task Bar and in it there is a Frequent Folder and a Recent files Folder which has 20 items in it.
