Hello Forum,

hope someone can help me with this one.

First my Setup

  • DPM 2016, RU 10
  • ReFS as local DPM Storage

Targets

  • WS2019 STD, physical
  • Roles: PDC, with some of the FSMO Roles
  • Features: Windows Server backup is installed
  • DPM Agent Version 5.0.622.0 - Agent communication is working well

Now i want to add my new DC to a existing protection group, by adding these two options:

  • SystemState Protection( both, Bare Metal Recovery and System State(includes Active Directory)

Now, if the wizard comes to "calculation Storage allocation" it hangs, like for ever (waited for 24hrs, no changes)

What i already try'd, but no luck:

  • select Drive letter first, rest later
  • setting the RegKey (EnableCustomAllocationOnReFSStorag)

any help would be appreciated

Regards
Chris

    Hi @Chris IT ,

DPM 2016 does not support backing up Windows Server 2019, please refer to the official documentation below:

    What can DPM back up?
