Hello;

I am currently having installation  issues with SP1 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Code 800F0A12

Suggestions for resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Model : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU    Q6600  @ 2.40GHz

Total Memory : 6GB DIMM DDR2

 NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

Operating System:

Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.01.7600

If you are used another partitioner, like me, I used linux to get rid of that 100MByte windows partition, and installed linux next onto another HDD, I needed to pull of the cables from the linux HDD and then using only the Win7 HDD I can install Win7 SP1. I hope it's a solution for your problem.

If you still can't install it, or the linux is on the same drive, I think there's no solution. Only to re-partition the whole HDD and use Win7 partitioner.

    I tried English's solution with no luck. I was too lazy to open the box up to unplug the HD, though, so I just reset the boot order in BIOS to skip over my Linux partition and boot straight into Win7 - and that is what got SP1 to install for me. I guess it was kind of "unplugging" the Linux hard drive! :) In any case, thanks to all contributors in this thread.

    Well to let you the rest of you know that all I had to do was physically unhook or unpluf my linux Hard Drive and allowed windows 7 to boot. Than I proceeded to download and was able install the Sercvice pack without any issue.  Hope this help

    To add to what Vikram said, there is another thing that could potentially be confusing the SP1 installer.

    If you have your system configured to boot to a different hard drive (for instance, I have mine booting to my second hard drive, mainly to keep my operating systems from overwriting each other's MBR), you may have to set your system to boot directly from your Windows drive.

    It's kind of odd, really.  I've had my computer set up like this for a while and haven't ran into any issues installing service packs when I was running Vista.
