You can get the Euro symbol to print by holding down the "Alt" key, tapping 0 1 2 8 on the numeric keypad with numlocks on, then release the "Alt" key.
Similarly, you can display the English Pound Sign by holding down the Alt key, tapping 0 1 6 3 on numeric keypad then release the Alt key.
Alternatively, you can use the Character Map to insert these symbols:
( Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map)
