Well I resolved it by bypassing the wireless adapter and buying a nano external wireless usb thing, it works perfectly now. problem still not fixed however.

I found a way to fix my Network, ive manually uninstalled the Network cards Drivers and downloaded the following file "win78-10.0.0.75-whql" from

    http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=81&system=6

and simply installed the driver via the Device Manager

Hope this will help some of you.

    Regards,

Same issue here on my Vizio CT14-A0 using the same Atheros AR5BWB222 hardware.  The minute I upgraded to Windows 8 my issues started.  Vizio provided an updated driver so now I only lose connections every 10-15 minutes instead of no connection at all.

I have tried everything under the sun to get it to work but no deal.  Would be nice to get either Qualcomm or Microsoft to fix.  Seriously thinking about going back to Windows 7.  Right now I'm using a USB AirLink wireless adapter to keep my connection stable.

Go figure, I have to use a $10 usb adapter to get my $700 ultrabook to work.

More often than not when a device doesn't function it is because the driver has been corrupted.

     Try re-installing yours.
