Original title: Under Add or Remove Programs, what is meant by a patch package?

I'm trying to remove the program Adobe Reader 10.1.3 & when I try to remove it, I get an error message that states this: The patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists & that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package.

    Hi,

A Windows Installer patch (.msp file) is a file used to deliver updates to Windows Installer applications. The patch is a self-contained package that contains all the information required to update the application.

A patch package contains the actual updates to the application and describes which versions of the application can receive the patch.

    Method 1:

Refer to the article and try to run the troubleshooter:

    Method 2:

Refer to the article and check if it helps:

The trouble shooter worked!! Thankyou so much. Adobe wouldn't uninstall because I over cleaned my HDD and deleted some key adobe files. All good now.
