    Hi Jason,

    I don't get it still.

Is a proxy server an application that i need to install to my windows server to act as a proxy server?

If you mean you want to configure your browser to use a proxy service, then yes, you just need to tell your web browser where the proxy is?

You mean, it can be configured in any client web browser by checking a proxy server checkbox and specify a proxy server IP address right?

Yeah proxy and web proxy are the same thing.

It depends what you mean by setup a proxy server. If you mean actually setup a server to act as a proxy then no, its not a simply matter of changing settings in your web browser. If you mean you want to configure your browser to use a proxy service, then yes, you just need to tell your web browser where the proxy is.

A proxy server is, well... a proxy. Your client computers talk to it and it, in turn, talks to outside web servers. Typically proxy servers will add some value by either cacheing copies of web pages locally to reduce the amount of bandwidth used or by performing some kind of logging of web traffic or even applying filtering to web traffic (or all of the above).

How to set one up? A bit beyond this forum. You might want to try the TechNet forums.
