Remove "Your Profile" Microsoft Edge Chromium

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of getting Microsoft Edge Chromium GPOs configured so we can carry out a site wide migration from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge. Whilst I've managed to get all the appropriate policies configured and it's working how I wish, I am getting stumped by this dialog box appearing when a user first launches Edge:

Is there a way of bypassing this? I have set the Edge GPO to ForceSignIn as all our users on Microsoft 365 and I want their browsers to be signed into their M365 account. However, this dialog box seems to be redundant, and I am seeking a way of completely hiding this so when users open Edge for the first time, it just opens straight to the homepage. This is the one and only stumbling block that's preventing me from proceeding with this migration.

I have noticed for some users, this dialog will appear and then after a second will automatically go away and Edge loads up. However, for some it stays there until the users clicks "Sign in" and then selects their M365 account.

We are an education establishment whereby several staff and students use different PCs throughout the day, and so I need to have Edge just load up to the homepage each and every time.

Has anyone else experienced this and knows a way of getting rid of this dialog?

Many thanks.

    Hi @Yu Zhou-MSFT ,

Many thanks for confirming that the GPO all looks right. I did some more digging and it appears that the user already had some userdata in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge which must've caused this dialog to show as it sets up a new profile. I cleared this folder out and the user opened up Edge and it all silently signed in and configured and loaded directly to the homepage.

Therefore, it appears to all be working as expected. Hopefully this is useful to someone out there.

Thanks again for your help and for sanity checking the Edge GPO

    Kind regards,
