Hi GerdyBrodel,

  1. Were there any changes made to the computer prior the issue?
  2. What is the exact error message that you get when you visit websites?

Refer the methods mentioned below:

Method 1:

Step 1:

Open the Windows Update troubleshooter

Try the fixit as well as the manual methods mentioned in the following link and check:

Step 2:

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Method 2:

Sir: I have spent several days trying to get one of my laptops to run Windows updates without any

success. Many other programs also without any success. Always getting bad certificates errors. When I loaded Windows, I put the correct date in and I thought that was ok, but it was not. Not until I read your

article was I able to fix my laptop. I was dumbfounded when I checked the date on my taskbar. The year

was 2011. Thank, thank you, and thank you for your post.
