why does my word not allow me to type anything on any documents, i have a valid microsoft license

whenever i open up word and try to type anything or edit a document in the bottom left it has a message that pops up, the message says, you cant make changes because this section is locked, is there any way someone could help me resolve this issue.

Do you see this in a particular document, only? In that case, document protection is one possibility, as Sophia Papadopoulos has already suggested.

If all documents are affected, a licensing issue is likely. If you have a subscription, first verify that the subscription is active by signing in to your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
