my company is running an SQL server database and report server that is 2008 R2. I need to make some changes to one of the reports.

I've done some tutorials on lynda.com and have learned the 2019 version of report server and report builder.

What do I need to do to be able to edit reports on a 2008 R2 server?

    Hi @RCDA Webmaster ,

You may download the report from the report server and then edit with report builder,

For compatibility, I'd suggest that you may use the Report Builder2.0.

I decided to download the sub reports that I need to edit. What I can't figure out is how to do that. When I open the folder with the sub reports, my options are to click on the report to open it or right click on it and save link as. Save link as, saves the page not the report. when I hover over, I get a down arrow next to the report. I tried clicking the arrow next to each report and nothing happens. Maybe I need some permission on the server?

With SQL server 2019, I could click on the ellipse and and open in Report Builder. How do I go about that?

Doing some research let me to the realization that expected functionality only works if I use Internet Explorer.

I decided to download the sub reports that I need to edit. What I can't figure out is how to do that

In SSRS 2008R2 it works different. Open a report, then click on top left in the bread crumb on the report name; you get to the report properties.
In the icon bar is a download button.

Easier way: Use my PowerShell script to export all reports, data source etc. in one batch:
