Regarding downgrade of os from server 2019 to 2016 with 2016 product key

Hi Team,

We have purchased a brand new server along with microsoft OS.

We want to install windows server 2016 but we have received Server 2016 downgrade kit with product key and server 2019 OS media.

Kindly assist on procedure and can we directly install 2016 media in server???

Hi,
First, if you want to install Windows Server 2016, we cannot downgrade directly. You have to a fresh install with the Server 2016 media.
Second, it is related to our key. You need a Windows Server 2016 key. You should be able to get a seperate 2016 product key from your volume license center. If you can't get a valid 2016 product key, you may not have bought your server license with downgrage rights. Consult your reseller regarding downgrade right. So for the key, you'd better ask your reseller or volume center about obtaining a downgrade product key.
