Sorry my english :)

Hello, today, after windows 7 x64 update itself and reboot most of all my applications cant start and crash with error 0xc0000005.

In "installed updates" I see a lot of Security update for Microsoft .Net Framework Client profile installed today, but I cant Uninstall them, click Uninstall, then I see "Setup.exe *32" in the task manager, then receive an error "An error occurred while trying to uninstall <update name>. It may have already been uninstalled" :(

Also I make a system restore, but without any result :(

Any ideas?

How can I manually remove this updates? Registry cleaning or something else?

You have hacked or infected files on your computer.

Check your BCD and do the below fix if necessary (at your own risk)

In Windows open CMD as Administrator and type BCDEdit and enter,  if your Windows Boot Loader Path is xOsload.exe then you need to remove some files and repair your BCD.

NOTE:  you will need to re-activate Windows afterwards, so make sure you have your Windows 7 key handy.

Boot to Windows Repair - Command

    Del D:\Windows\System32\xOsload.exe

    Del D:\Windows\System32\xNtKrnl.exe

    Del D:\Windows\System32\Drivers\oem-drv64.sys

    attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s

    ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

Same problem. After a bunch of updates were installed, Windows boots but most of applications fail to start with 0xc0000005 error.

The updates installed on this day were mostly "Security update for Microsoft Windows", one "Update for Microsoft Windows" and a bunch of .NET framework updates which I assume must be unrelated (.NET is not system-level stuff).

Additionally one of the updates (Cumulative update for IE) failed to install at boot time, switching to "Rolling back update" and then rebooting.

    Which apps work:

Notepad works, explorer works, cmd.exe works, iexplore.exe pops up a window but crashes. Most of 3rd party apps do not work, even unassuming ones such as a simple dictionary app. Some third party services (skype update) do not start, although I don't know if with the same error or not.

Event logs show mostly nothing unusual, at least no blatant differences with normal boot process and no additional errors with the exception of "SkypeUpdate failed to start" and the likes.

The problem is temporarily suppressed by:

    1. Disabling Windows Update service (Start mode: disabled) and telling Windows Defender to shut up about it.
    2. Going to "Add and remove programs -> Updates" and uninstalling updates which were installed the last day.

But how can we solve this permanently?

    Sorry for my English too!

For first need to disable Antivirus System. For my reason it was AVAST. You cannot to unistall it. Need to boot in Safe mode (press f8), and move (or remove) folder form Program Files.

Second, go to Control Panel -> Recovery -> Open System Restore and select day before (13 august or soon).

    Restore this point.

    It works for me.

Exactly the same problem as you described, but cannot even run AVAST... I am doing sfc check now, and will try your solution. Have no idea how to fix it, rather than wait for Microsoft to release a fix for it, since it happened after update.

Sfc was complete, and some corrupt files were found and fixed, but it didn't help at all…
