Can someone tell me why the Windows 10 profile of the logged in user is lost when power is lost to the computer? We have had a lot of issues with this and want to know if there is a way to prevent this from happening. We are running Windows 10 ENT. Have been have the issue with all versions. This is also happening across multiple hardware platforms.

    Hello,

    Can you share us, what happens next? Are the users then moved to temporary profile?

    Did you recently made any changes to the system?

    Regards.

    @Jason_305
    Hi,
    What version of the Windows 10?
    Does the Settings>Account page say you are logged in a temporary profile?
    If so, you need to fix that.

    Please note: Information posted in the given link is hosted by a third party. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy and effectiveness of information.
    Also, one thing that can work is removing the affected profile from the profile list in the registry:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    The problem profile will have two folders starting with the same GUID, one with a .bak extension and one without. Rename the one without the .bak extension to something else (add a .tmp extension, for example), then remove the .bak extension from the one that has it (which has your correct profile settings).

    Reboot and log in as you normally would. Your settings should be back to normal.

    Hope above information can help you.
