    Hi,

The attached DMP file is of the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4) bugcheck and is successfully detecting a driver in violation which is Uim_Vim.sys.

Uim_im.sys with description UIM Drive Backup Image Plugin is a driver file from company Paragon belonging to product Paragon Image Mounter.

I would recommend removing this software ASAP.

    Regards,

    Patrick

Hi Patrick - I re-enabled the driver verifier and restarted and got a blue screen, and as instructed I rebooted in safe mode and turned it back off - here is the zip file with the DMP files from the blue screen i got today:

If the crash on boot didn't create a dump file (or System Restore undid it) then instead of using System Restore, at the screen where you choose Safe mode choose Last Known Good.

But look for the dump first.

As I said in my Driver Verifier speech, if you cannot boot into normal Windows, disable verifier via Safe Mode and then boot back into normal to upload the DMP's to Skydrive to have analyzed here.

So yes, re-enable it, crash, then go into Safe Mode and disable Driver Verifier so you can boot once again.

    Regards,

    Patrick

Try disabling that program. It's the type of program that can cause blue screens, and was involved at some level in the call that crashed.
