Error code 0x80070426

I am able to browse the app store, but once an app is selected the "Install", and "Buy" buttons  wont load, so I'm unable to download or buy any new apps.  If I click on the back arrow or the link for "Home" or "Your Apps", sometimes the buttons appear for a split second before moving to the selected link.

When I click on "Your Apps" and "Updates", they  won't load either, I just get continuous rolling dots.

Also, my emails aren't loading in the email app. I have gone into Change PC Settings, then Users and it asks me to sign in with a Microsoft Account.  I typed my Microsoft Account details in, and it says "Please Wait" and I get the rolling dots again for about 30mins, then there is an error message:

"We're sorry, something went wrong.  Your account wasn't changed to this Microsoft account.

Code: 0x80070426. "

Can anyone help me fix this issue please?

No i dont believe its the same issue as i have checked mine and it is activated. Im still no further forward. :(

That error code *IS* an activation error. I confirmed it with MS support yesterday while troubleshooting another user's Lync issue. (Taking advantage of having a support tech on the phone... heh) Even though my Windows 8 install shows a valid activation, it's still generating this error whenever I try to install something from the app store.

I'm having this issue as well.

I have several MS accounts (personal and multiple work) and none of them will take. I run the troubleshooter and all it says is "You need a Microsoft account..." No kidding.

The error code in Win7 is an activation error. Could it be the same for 8?
