    Go to

    Ctrl X

Bring up the Windows powershell admin

    Type in the following

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

Go back to windows store and it should re-work!!

I experienced this message while attempting to run WSReset.exe, as my original problem had to do with attempting to run the Store app. Clicking on the Store tile causes the Store tile to go full-screen for a second or two after which it goes back to its original size.

Following the troubleshooting advice determined there to be no search or indexing problems.

None of these steps worked. The error message is:

    "Windows cannot find 'ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches"

There is no indexing problem. Windows store will not open.

    Hi Austin,

It’s great to know that you have chosen Windows 8 and thank you for providing us an opportunity to assist you through Microsoft Community Forums.

I would like to have more information about this issue.

    1)       When exactly are you getting this error message? Is it when you are searching for any Apps in the Windows Store?

    2)       Are you able to open the Windows Store App without any issues?

    3)       Have you made any recent changes on the computer prior to this issue?

This seems to happen because the Windows Store Cache is full. So, let’s try clearing the store cache and check if that helps.

Method 1: Clear the Store cache

You may try clearing the cache for the Store and check if it helps:

    a)       Press the “Windows Logo” + “R” on the keyboard.

    b)       Type “WSReset.exe” and press “Enter”.

    c)       Reboot the computer and try updating the Apps.

Now, check if the issue still persists. If you are having the issue while searching for any apps from the store and if the above steps do not fix the issue, then let’s also try running the “Search and Indexing Troubleshooter” and check if that helps.

Method 2: Run Search and Indexing Troubleshooter

    a)       Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys from the keyboard.

    b)       Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.

    c)       In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

    d)        Click on “Search and Indexing”.

    e)       Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

    f)        Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Hope this resolves the issue. If this issue persists, I would request you to get back to us with more information for further assistance.

Feel free to get back to us for any issues or queries related to Windows and we’ll be glad to assist you.
