What is going on with Windows Store? 'Sorry, this app is no longer available' KB2862768 August update Bug

Please see the attached GIF/video to see what I'm talking about.. In the last few days with no changes

made to my PC I've seen the 'Sorry, this app is no longer available' Error, and it is some kind of Bug

because I can get the app to appear using the method seen in the video

So, whats up with the Store? Is something broken on either Microsoft's end or my own? Is anyone else

having this issue. Mostly this happens when I click links to apps on External sites like WinBeta or

Neowin etc tho I have seen it happen Searching for apps in the Store app itself. To reproduce find

an external link to an app .. click it, if the Store finds the app without issue close the Store app without

returning to the Store(Home) section. Find another app link and click it

I've just been waiting for a Fix to come along Server side.. as I'm fairly sure I did not change anything,

Store had been working fine for the most part since Win8 Launch

I Recorded an updated video, a better example of the Issue I'm having

For anyone still paying attention to this KB problem, after installing ALL other updates for this Patch Tuesday 10 Sept 13(all installed without issue), I went back and restored KB2862768 which I believe initially was Optional, it is now marked as Important

So I've now got KB2862768 installed and this Windows Store issue seems to be gone, I assume

Msft has now fixed this issue, I have every update available installed both optional and important etc

So I have been unable to access store since I got my computer 8 months ago. I was hoping that by uninstalling update KB2862768 It would start working. Alas, I do not have that update installed. So their is something else wrong that is preventing access to store. thanks for the ray of hope tho, more help than I have received from Microsoft!

OK I've found the KB update that slightly messed up my Store app.. Its obviously one from this last Patch Tuesday. KB2862768 August 2013 .. So I uninstalled that particular update now clicking links that open the Store app work once again and I've yet to see the 'Sorry, this app is no longer available' message

Any advice about who to contact about this? Because its something that needs addressing. This update slightly messed up the Store app even after a Windows 8 Refresh...  I'd like to be able go give someone at Msft specifics about what type of laptop I'm running and what all is installed

Looking at the KB article... I don't see much in it relating to Windows Store but this is the one KB I uninstalled and everything is working as normal again so, thoughts?

After letting Windows Update check for updates after previously uninstalling that KB...  I'm given

3 updates that need to be installed:

Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2855336)

Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2845533)

Security Update for Windows 8 for x64-based Systems (KB2850851)

    KB2845533

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2845533/en-us

this is the only one in the list that updates anything to do with Windows Store as far as I can tell. "Resolves an issue in which you cannot sign in to Windows Store when the "Require Trusted Path for Credential Entry" policy setting is enabled"

Edit: So I've installed all 3 updates above... minus the original KB I uninstalled KB2862768(it is an optional update).. So far Store works, linking to the Store works when I click on app links on external websites.. must be something in that KB in particular that messes it up

Edit2: Installed the initial KB just to confirm KB2862768 ... Restarted and I get the same issue as posted initially

    Please advise

I went ahead and did a complete Windows 8 Refresh... and after my system was up and running again, the Store app seemed to work fine.I could even click external links like this oneand it would take me straight to the Store and find the linked app.

However, after I Refreshed ... Windows needed to install 700-800MB of updates(which is normal) but during one of those updates, it partially broke my Store app again, clicking links again returned 'Sorry, this app is no longer available'

Partial fix for all this is... before you Search Windows Store for anything, Open Windows Store, Right click in the Store app and look up top for the 'Home' and 'Your apps' options, click Home .. from there you can Win-Q(charms bar search) for any app once again

SO conclusion is that a Windows Update KB is causing issues with the Store for some regions, until Msft issues a fix.... or figures out some users are having trouble this might take some time to fix

Dingl_, That seemed to work, Thank You.

I am in the store when I try an install the app. It happens on mote than one app.

I really appreciate your help, nice to know that other users take up the slack that Microsoft creates.

    Kudos
