Two of Samsungs software programms , pc studio 3 and kies were installed, and still no success. My pc has a windows 8.1 o.s. thus is outfitted with all the necessary software to transfer photos from a cell phone to my pc. What am I missing? Can you help? Thanks
Transferring pictures from older model cell phone to PC
I am trying to transfer the pictures from an older (2008 model) Samsung Slider cell phone to my Desktop PC (Windows 7, Vista). This phone has the USB ports to connect with your PC, which I have attempted. When the phone and PC are connected, via USB cord, an icon of "Samsung Mobile Modem" is the only option that is given. When I double click this icon, I only have access to the properties of the connected device. Can anyone assist? Thank you, Josh in CA.

2013-02-23T16:35:22+00:00 Hi,
Welcome to Microsoft Community forums. As per your issue description I understand that when you connect your cell phone to the computer you can only access to the properties of the connected device.
1) Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
2) What is model of the cell phone?
3) Do you get any error message?
Follow the steps for troubleshooting steps.
Method 1:
I suggest you to refer to the link.
Troubleshoot AutoPlay problems.

Method 2:
I suggest you to follow the steps to transfer the pictures from cell phone.
a) Plug your cell phone USB cable into the phone and into the computer's USB port outlet. When the computer detects a USB connection, a notification screen will appear in the lower right corner of the screen, above the task bar. The phone's software driver will be automatically installed to your computer's hard drive.
b) Import your pictures to your computer. Click on "Import Pictures" when the "AutoPlay" dialog window pops up. Close the "AutoPlay" window to configure the import settings.
c) Choose a gallery title for the pictures you are importing. When the blank data form appears in the bottom right corner of the screen, type a name for your gallery in the data form. Click on the "Import" button to begin the downloading process.
d) Remove the cell phone USB cable from the computer and then from the mobile phone. Click on the "Start" menu icon, and then select the "Pictures" folder. Your newly imported pictures should be stored in this folder.
If the issue still persists please feel free to reply us we will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
