Hello

I bought a new disk to backup our server. But now when I try to make a Backup Schedule, I get an error message:

The disk is formatted to NTFS.

    Hi,
Did you want to use windows server backup to back up BMR or something else?
Please tell me your server system and your source disk.
Please check if there is any event ID in Applications and Service Logs>Microsoft> Windows>Backup, if yes, please provide the detailed error information.
Note: BMR Cannot Be Performed from a Dynamic Disk Backup.
If any system component reside on a dynamic disk, backups running to any volume on the dynamic disk cannot run BMR. Since Automated System Recovery (ASR) restores the dynamic disk pack as a single unit, BMR cannot be performed from this type of backup. Hence, Windows Server Backup would not allow backups to run to dynamic disks if any dynamic disk hosts a critical volume.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Mico Mi

    Hi

Now I have another problem. In our server there's a disk (D:) that has same partitions like the Windows disk (C:). In Disk Management there's two Recovery Partitions (in D:). That is not a boot disk, so how can I make it as an ordinary disk?

    Thank you again

That disk is in a server and it seems that it can't run diskpart. I tested in Windows 10 computer and the the diskpart worked.
