Well, it's been forever since this was made, but I had the same issue but in Windows 10. Super annoying. I solved it by doing the exact same thing RajithR suggested but instead go to the "Pointers" tab and click the "Text Select" icon. Hit "Browse" and select "beam_r" from the list. This solved it for me!

    Hi Tyson,

Have you started facing this issue recently? If yes, do you remember making any hardware or software changes to the computer?

It appears that you have a mouse setting set to 'hide pointer while typing'

To change this setting back, follow these steps.

    a. Open Control Panel.

    b. In View by: Large icon view, click on Mouse.

    c. Click the P ointer options tab and uncheck Hide pointer while typing.

    d. Click on Apply and check the issue.

Let us know if it helps. If the issue persists, we will be happy to assist you further.

Hello, just had similar issue and came here to try and resolve the issue. Unfortunately it did not help. I believe the methods listed in previous posts were for cursors that aren't there altogether. Our issue appears to be whenever it hovers over a text field / search box that it disappears and you have no clue where your cursor is. Luckily, after playing with the settings I found maybe not a fix but a way around it. If you go into the Mouse Properties -> Pointers -> Scheme , and change your mouse to Windows Black... then it doesn't disappear in the fields anymore. So far it is the only thing that seems to be a work around this issue. Hope this helps.

    Where did you find "Browse"
