Do you have AVAST of AVG installed on any of the computers? If so, uninstall them. That is the only fix that I know of, and this came from the Microsoft Community. The so called Microsoft Support tech spent eight hours in my computer and could not fix it, and obviously did not know about the incompatible issues with AVAST and AVG.
Family Safety causes UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP on Windows 8.1 Pro
I use Family Safety for managing my children's accounts. Some days ago, it made my pc have a UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP crash. The crash always occurred on the child account: when logged in, after logged in, after or before Family Safety runs, or when accessed the internet. And I thought it could be Family Safety. Then I change my children's accounts from child to standard. Until now, the crash hasn't occurred. But I need to use Family Safety for managing time on my children's account. Could you help me to solve the problem.
Thanks so much!

2014-10-02T07:24:25+00:00 I also get the unexpected kernel mode trap ONLY when my children use their account. I suspect it is due to the Family Safety program.
Got a BRAND NEW computer. SAME problem. ONLY with kids Family Safety Accounts. Without the Family Safety Account set, it NEVER crashes.
My both my older Dell XPS 18 and brand new Leveno Flex 20 runs on Windows 8.1, and Sony Tap 20 runs on Windows 8.1 pro. ALL THREE machines have the same problem. ONLY with Kids Family Safety Accounts. ALL OTHER ACCOUNTS NEVER CRASHES.
Is there a fix on the Family Safety account?

Driver Description: AVG Firewall driver
AVG Firewall apparently has an issue with Family safety (FS). If I had to guess, I would say that somewhere in the interaction between family safety filters and AVG's filters, there is an overlapping function that makes them incompatible.
I do not know of a workaround, except to include FS in AVG Firewall exceptions or simply uninstall AVGand turn on the built-in Windows Defender.
Note: Windows Defender in windows 8/8.1 is a full fledged AV Application.
