I looked all over the Internet and I couldn't find any information on when I am in either of these languages but in it's US version how do I type all of the special characters that go with the letters in this mode. Example of what I mean is this: Ā  Ñ  Ṇ  ñ  ṝ  ś  ṭ  ḷ  ḥ  ā

any and all of these I want to be able to type as I want to type in roman but want to be able to use these characters on the letters. Not even in just a word program but anytime I want to be able to type while being able to access these characters.

So I'm hoping someone out there will know. Much appreciated for any help. Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update on the issue.

As suggested By Anil Kumar B in the previous response, the usual way to use Sanskrit/Hindi scripts is through special characters (Character Maps). However, you may install Sanskrit/Hindi fonts and make the necessary changes in the Control Panel.

    1. Click Start and open Control Panel.
    2. Click on Region and Languages.
    3. Go to the tab Keyboard & Languages and select Change Keyboards.
    4. Click on Add and scroll down to Hindi (India) > Keyboards.
    5. Check mark Devanagari - INSCRIPT.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Repeat Step 3 and select Hindi (India) - Devanagari - INSCRIPT in the Default Input Language menu.
    8. Click Apply and OK.

Please try these steps and post back your results for further assistance.

    Hi,

Special characters are characters that cannot be found on your keyboard. These can include symbols, special mathematical characters, and characters from other languages. You can insert special characters into your documents by using Character Map.

You may refer to the help links which answers some of the most common questions about using special characters.
