\System\SysMenu.dll The specified module could not be found

I've just updated to 8.1 and am now getting notification that "...\System\SysMenu.dll The specified module could not be found." I'm not finding anything on the internet about this. Is this a known issue or did I just inform you?

Help is appreciated.

    Microsoft technical support have solved this problem for me. I'm not sure what they did as they logged in remotely to my computer. But if you are having this problem as well it might be worth giving them a call :)

    Hi Kim,

    Here is the solution:

    1st: Download Auto Runs.

    Click Here:

    Link basis: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

    2nd: Find the yellow highlighted Image Paths that ends with sysmenu.dll. Usually you can locate those image paths from Scheduled Task.

    3rd: Right click then delete.

    4th: Try to find all yellow highlighted Image Paths that ends with sysmenu.dll from "Everything tabs, delete them.

    NOTE: Carefully choose image paths that ends sysmenu.dll only, if you deleted paths that are not high lightened then it might cause some trouble booting your PC.

    5th: Reboot Computer

    6th: Wait at least 5 minutes to confirm that the issue has been resolved. (sysmenu.dll usually appears within a minute from rebooting the computer. )

    This issue occurs if the system file is corrupted or damaged.

    I would suggest you to run System File Checker.

    System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    I would also suggest you to Run DISM or System Update Readiness tool

    Windows corruption errors may prevent Windows updates and service packs from installing. For example, an update might not install if a system file is damaged. The DISM or System Update Readiness tool may help you to fix some Windows corruption errors.

    Hi,

    Let's analyze and identify the cause of the issue.

    1. When do you get this error message?
    2. Does this issue occur when you launch a specific program or randomly?

    Place the computer in clean boot and check for the issue.

    I am having this problem aswell, right after I updated to Windows 8.1.

    I have carried out the clean boot as per the support notes above and even with a clean boot the error still appears.

    It appears about 3 minutes after I start up my computer and 3 windows appear with the RunDLL error.

    I would really like some help as I only purchased my computer yesterday so it is really annoying to be getting errors like this so early on.

    Hi Kim,

    Thank you for replying with the status.

    I would suggest you to run System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) and check if it helps. The System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) scans for missing or corrupted system files and repairs them.

    Run System File checker to see if you have any corrupted system files.

    a. From the Start screen, type Command Prompt

    b. Right-click on the command prompt and choose Run as Administrator.

    c. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    sfc /scannow and press Enter.

    The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions
