does wallpaper and or screensavers use system resources or cause freezes and errors???

Question

I have windows 7 ultimate  but this question is general and is often brought up over the years but never seen or heard an answer that applies--only rumors.

But i do have a dell u3011 super high def pro monitor and that MAY have something to do with it. another factor is that i only use high def huge megapixel wallpaper.

Here is a small list of the various rumors over the past 25 years:

having screensavers running (which i never use) slowly fill up working memory of the computer giving low system resources errors and freezing where the computer has to be rebooted to "clear out the cache or memory which gets backed up and filled"

If high megapixel wallpaper is used--because the screen refreshes so many times per second the computer sees and has to constantly be reading the wallpaper no matter what your doing on the computer. that could be an issue on my computer because of the high def huge monitor and the fan often kicks into high gear and really roars. (i had to have a expensive power supply put in my tower just to run the monitor at all).

if plain wallpaper is used such as simply a mostly black photo--the computer for the reasons above works less with less freezups etc.  sorry--the bullet options on this page do not work right.

if anyone knows--and knows for sure the answer to the mystery of the ages above let me know. I would like to put this mystery to rest in my mind. its one of those things always in the back of your mind if you use impressive wallpaper. I have them set to change about every five minutes--pretty fast.  if a person were to set them to change every 5 seconds--would that be a good test to answer the question??

I only recently created a few great wallpapers using high def nasa photos etc--and it possibly has caused some non critical freezups such as the close x not working on a page and when i type in an email--it dosent show the words instantly but they are backed up then quickly appear but i have to keep stopping since im not sure if the words registered till they pop up.

thats it--do they or dont they rob system performance??????????? thanks. i attached a screencapture of part of my desktop but i dont see it.

1. Does computer freeze when you use normal wallpaper or screensaver recommended by Microsoft?

Yes, High resolution wallpapers and screensavers do take memory and they may cause freezing of computer.

If you use wallpapers or screensavers recommended by Windows, computer will not take much memory and will work properly.

I would suggest you to try following methods and check if it helps.

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Method 2:

Perform clean boot and check if this is caused due to any third party programs or applications.
