Just wanted to let you know, I have exact same problem plus 2 recovery partitions after upgrading to windows 8.1, cant defrag any of my drives, I get parameter incorrect.

Whatever you do , do NOT run checkdisk.

It stays in the infamous loop stuck at 10% ,it completely buggered my computer as when I got out of it  low and behold my C.drive had been changed to an empty drive with no accessible operating system.

So I had enough and went back to windows 7 until I get AN IMAC.

Well thanks for your NON REPLY......windows 8.1 is the biggest disaster ever.

Microsoft have lost me and Apple have gained yet another customer.

    In answer to your questions.

    1. Free Space = 1.75 TB
    2. Size            = 1.81 TB

Tried check disk and still it will not function and gives the same error every time.

    Hi,

To provide the appropriate resolution, I would need more information from you.

    1. What is the Free Space available in C drive?
    2. What is the size of the C Drive?

I would suggest you to run check disk and check if it helps.

    a) Move the mouse pointer to bottom left of the screenwhere you see preview of start menu and right-click to bring up a list of Windows settings.

    b) Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’ to bring up elevated command prompt.

Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.

    c) In the command prompt, type **‘chkdsk /r’**and press Enter.

Answer Y when ‘chkdsk’ asks you if you want to check the drive next time computer boots (restarts).

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with updated status of the issue to assist you further.
