Dell Venue Pro loses wireless connection after installing Windows Updates

The Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro lost all wireless connectivity after installing either Windows Update**KB 2887595** or**KB 2903939**.

Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates. 

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200. 

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

I think it is, I have same on my 8 pro, can you let me know how to deactivate and reactivate the adapter as mine just died after the first standby (I got the tablet an hour ago and already it has died). Thanks!

Oh that is easy. Just switch to the Desktop and open Control panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change adapter settings -> Select your wifi adapter -> Disable then Enable

This sequence update did not fix the issue. Leave the Dell Venue 8 pro in sleep mode for more than 10 mins and the same "Limited" connectivity issue. Please resolve this annoying issue.

After losing my WIFI and having to do a refresh the system several times before I read this post and others. 

My last refresh was today and I went to do a windows update and hide  KB 2887595and**** KB 2903939 but they were not listed anymore, so I did the update, restarted and did a windows update again and there was KB 2883200 which I updated. Then I did another windows update to see what was there, and guess what: KB 2887595and**** KB 2903939were both there, so I updated them to see if I lose my WIFI or worse :)

Well I guess that Microsoft update has it all fixed and in the right order now and all is well.

But this did take a lot of my time and also I can see hords of folks taking their Dell Tablets back to stores because of this error and many calls to Dell's techs...

Hope I'm not highjacking this thread, but I have a problem with Update KB2903939.   I have a Dell Inspiron 660 with Windows 8.1 x64, which has problems with KB2903939, in that after installing the update, it adds an additional 2 minutes to startup.   I have to uninstall KB 2903939 and System Restore back to an earlier date to get the pc working properly again.  I have tried repeatedly to install KB2903939 including the above suggestion, with no success.  Does anyone have a suggestion to deal with this.  As it now stands, I have uninstalled KB2903939 and "hid" it in Windows Update, but I would like to get it installed properly if possible.  Thanks.
