I cannot allow an app through firewall - and security settings have been changed but not by me!

I cannot download anything from Mozilla Firefox - eventually I worked out that I need to change firewall settings and when I went into firewall I found that all incoming downloads from Mozilla are blocked on firewall. This wasn't the case yesterday and I'm not sure what the computer has done to cause this. I tried clicking on the button to allow me to allow an app through the firewall but it doesn't work - and I am the administrator and only user of this computer. I cannot get internet explorer or google chrome to work so I am stuck. I have tried troubleshooting but anything that requires an app to download doesn't work. It keeps coming up with an error telling me my internet security settings will not allow me to download - but then it will not allow me to change the security settings. Please help, I really need my computer!

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern here at Microsoft Community.

If you've changed some Windows Firewall settings and you want to undo your changes, you can restore the firewall settings to the original (default) settings.

    1. Open Windows Firewall by Pressing Windows key + X , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
    2. In the left pane, click Restore defaults. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. In the dialog box that appears, click Restore defaults. At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.
