They can use Hotspot Shelf or Hola VPN web programs to go around the Family Safety limits. What can I do to stop their games?

    Hi David,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

In Family Safety, your children can send you email requests for new apps, games, or websites they want permission to use. You can always deal with those requests individually, but you can also manage them all in one place on the Family Safety website.

You may refer to the sections “Set limits on the websites your child can visit” and “Set restrictions on games and apps” from this article to check if this helps.

Set limits for when and how your child uses the PC: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/set-pc-limits

    Hi David,

Please answer this question to get more clarity on this issue.

    • Do you have the latest version of Family Safety installed on the computer?

To gain access to the proxy server or the VPN connection the user needs to have administrator privileges.

You may edit the User Account Control (UAC) settings so that it notifies you before changes are made to your PC that require administrator-level permission. You may choose “Always notify me” option and check if this helps.

What are User Account Control settings?: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-are-user-account-control-settings#1TC=windows-8

Thanks for checking. I checked Always Notify Me and not sure how it works but I have a few more questions. If I apply APP block to limit some APP however, always block some I did not want to or some APP does not in the list at all. My child uses C++ platform to do programming but the APP block makes it not ran proper and I have to release the whole APP block. Another thing is how to block Google + but release Google search engine and Gmail from the list. I never be able to do so.  Thanks you.

    David
