Difference between “Hybrid Shutdown” and “Normal Shutdown

Hi Microsoft Forum Team, I just wanna ask which is better to do? Hybrid shutdown or regular shutdown, on every day use basis,

I read in this article "http://superuser.com/questions/496241/are-there-downsides-to-windows-8-hybrid-shutdown" that there are disadvantages on hybrid shutdown - You cannot use wake on lan feature on some network cards.

               - You cannot install new Windows updates if you do a hybrid shutdown using the command (shutdown -s -hybrid)

               - Some drivers may only work if you do a full shutdown.

and there are another comment on the article says that "Of course, there are times where you may want to perform a complete shutdown – for example, if you’re opening the system to add or change some hardware", i just wanna ask on this part that you cannot do a system to add or change some hardware while using a hybrid shutdown? Lastly does windows update is will apply regardless of shutdown right? whether it is hybrid or normal? Thanks Microsoft Forum Team.

I understand that you want to know the difference between “Hybrid Shutdown” and “Normal Shutdown”. I will certainly help you with this issue.

I would like to inform you that it entirely depends on your priority that what type of work you are doing on your computer. Both “Hybrid Shutdown” & “Normal Shutdown” have their importance.

Hybrid shutdown is also known as Fast startup. It is turned on by default in Windows and is a setting that helps your PC start up faster after shutdown. Windows does this by saving system info to a file upon shutdown so when you start your PC again, Windows uses that system info to resume your PC instead of restarting it.

For e.g. if someone wants to continue work on a previous assignment or programs, their associated files will reopen automatically in the same image of work you left before doing Hybrid shutdown.

Whereas when you restart the computer after performing “Normal Shutdown” this specifies that you want a completely new Windows state, either because you have installed a driver or replaced Windows elements that cannot be replaced without a full restart.

Ow i got a one more question sir, does restart sequence is somehow related to full shutdown sequence right? Lastly there is no function like hybrid restart? hehe Thanks

I would also like to inform you that "Restart" & "Shutdown" both process are entirely different, there is no similarity in their process and there is no "hybrid restart" function in Windows.
