the only solution I could find was to unplug the card reader. Microsoft update created the problem. dskchk will not solve the issue.
F:\ The directory name is invalid
I updated to Windows 10 and now I'm getting frequent error messages saying "F:\ The directory name is invalid" and "G:\ The directory name is invalid" I'm not sure what my F:\ and G:\ drives are. I can't find anything about them on my computer. These error messages pop up out of nowhere. Any idea why I'm getting them or what I can do to stop them?

2017-12-09T21:20:22+00:00 This problem has only become evident after the latest Windows 10 update.
The solution I have found that works for me is:
- Click on the File Explorer (usually for me on the task bar). If it is not there - just type "File Explorer" at the start menu.
- Scroll down the left pane until the drive is found - in my case it was "Removable Disk (E:)".
- Right click on this and select: "Eject". The prompt "Safe to remove ..." will appear.
- Click on this and it will go away and then the File Explorer will no longer display the non-existent drive.
Hopefully the annoying message that used to appear will no longer occur.
