api-ms-win-crt-string-|1-1-0.dll and others missing from computer

I just bought a used HP touch envy ts 17 and everything was working great. However, when I was trying to run a game (it has a nvidia geforce graphics card) the following messages popped up:

api-ms-win-crt-string-|1-1-0.dll is missing from computer

api-ms-win-crt-math-|1-1-0.dll is missing from computer

api-ms-win-crt-heap-|1-1-0.dll is missing from computer

api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll is missing from computer

A message popped up and notified me that the game had crashed.

I have installed all the updates and even tried installing a new BIOS. I have also tried installing the update for universal c runtime in windows. However, that failed. I clean  booted the system and have also tried installing

Installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64).

However, even this didn't seem to work. During the Setup Progress, it fully processed but didn't progress any further. The same messages pop up after I try running the game again.

Please help. If this information helps, my laptop runs windows 8.1.

    Hello Victoria,

    Let us get those errors fixed.

    The missing dll's are installed with a Windows update. To resolve this,

    download and install the Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows from Microsoft.

    Note:

    To install this update, you must have April 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (2919355) installed in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.

    Let us know what happens.
